Close to Vrbnik
Not far from Vrbnik are the remains of old abandoned houses that are known today as the village of Grmovićevo Selo. The large ferns surrounding the houses served as inspiration for the name Paprate (Ferns). Due to the large floor slabs and the rest of the stone consoles protruding from the houses' facades, we can conclude that these houses once belonged to some unknown wealthy people from Krk.
