The small churches of St. Martin and St. Apollinaris close to the old cemetery were mentioned for the first time in 1153, but the history of Malinska began in the 15th century with the construction of a mill after which the place was named. This period is characterised by the more intense migration of Vlasi (Morlaci) with the encouragement of nobleman, Ivan VII Frankopan, and the creation of further settlements, the centre of which was Bogovići, which today is connected with Malinska.
