Next to the Frankopan’s Gradec castle stand the remains of the chapel of the Holy Spirit. It is assumed that this was the church of St. Nicholas, built in 1323 by Prince Nikola, whose title was changed in the 16th century. As early as 1508, priests from Vrbnik celebrated Mass here every Sunday, but it seems that it was abandoned in the first half of the 16th century because, according to a visitation from 1565, it was in a dilapidated condition.
