The remains of the Mali and Veli Kaslir fortresses appear on the way from Punat to Stara Baška. These fortresses were built by Ilyrians so that they could defend their settlements more easily. This is where the name Kaslir comes from, meaning fortress. The remains of these fortresses together with the Illyrian graves in the vicinity of Punat, are proof of the Illyrians arrival on Krk no later than 400 BC.
