The Venetian fortress of Maltempo, mentioned on old Venetian maps under the name St.Mark’s Fortress is located on Vošćica Cape. The Venetians built the fortress in a key position, where the distance between the island of Krk and the mainland is the smallest, therefore giving it complete control over maritime traffic.
