The remains of Fortičina Fort are located above Omišalj bay in a strategically important position for the control of the port and the settlement of Omišalj. Traces of the old fortress and towers dating back to Late Antiquity can be found here, as well as the remains of a cistern that was allegedly supplied with water by the nearby Roman town of Fulfinum. A medieval Frankopan fort was built on the site, which stood there until the 14th century.
