In a dense forest close to Malinska, above the main road leading from Omišalj towards Krk, there is an important archaeological site called Cickini. According to expert estimates, the early Christian church complex dates from the period between the 5^th and 7^th centuries.

There is a church and the remains of several facilities within the complex with the baptismal font of particular note. During research that only began in 2002, a number of remains were discovered, such as the 5^th century chapiter of a beam carrier of the altar rail and the 6^th century part of the board from the altar rail.
