The island of Plavnik is about 5 km away from the town of Krk. It is rich in flora and fauna, various species of birds, rabbits, sheep, and a number of ponds that are home to both amphibians and reptiles. There is also a game farm that breeds fallow deer. In the summer months, it is interesting for tourists hoping to see a griffon vulture, a rare and protected bird species or who would like to swim and sunbathe on one of the island’s beaches.
